Let’s Celebrate Together In 1807, the Reverend Alban Thomas Jones Gwynne obtained a Private Act of Parliament, which enabled him to build the Harbour and thus found the town of Aberaeron. We are proud of the maritime, industrial, architectural and cultural heritage, which has grown with the town. In 2007, our Bicentenary year, we are celebrating our heritage and giving thanks to all those who have contributed in so many ways towards Aberaeron. Social events and exhibitions will take place throughout the year leading up to main celebrations, the Aberaeron 2007 Festival Week: 28th July – 4th August 2007. BOX OFFICE OPEN: Mon - Fri 10am to 3:30pm at the Memorial Hall, Aberaeron. Telephone: 07999 552 541 Email: festival@aberaeron.info |

Aberaeron Town Trail and Historical Plaques
The rich and diverse heritage of Aberaeron is to be found on many of the streets and around several corners of the town. The launch of a Town Trail self-guided walk by Lord Elystan Morgan and the placement of bronze plaques on sites of historical interest will highlight and conserve Aberaeron’s history for present and future generations. Ultimately the plaques and the Town Trail will also stand as a memorial to all those who have lived, worked and served in our beautiful town. Starting at Tourist Information Centre at 5pm and ending up at the Ships' Plaque on the Green in front of Trelawney.

An evening at Monachty Mansion
Join us at Monachty Mansion for a Garden Party, including a dramatisation by members of ‘Memorama’ of a lecture given by the late Gareth Owen on the history of the creation of Aberaeron. "My Dear Reverend Cousin" tells the story of the Rev. Alban Thomas, who with his future wife, Susannah Maria Jones of Tyglyn, went on to inherit Monachty, Pennant, and whose wealth and inspiration led to the rebuilding of the Harbour by Private Act of Parliament in 1807, thus forming the genesis of the town of Aberaeron.
