Welcome to Aberaeron

As Town Mayor, it gives me great pleasure to introduce this website. This popular website has proved itself to be a great source of useful information for all that is going on in Aberaeron, whether this is your first visit, you are a returning visitor or indeed a resident, this website will provide you with all the information you need on how to get the best out of the town, as well as interesting articles and a comprehensive list of our exciting events.

You may have already noticed that Aberaeron is looking a little different this year. The vital Coastal Defence scheme work is well underway and is already ahead of schedule. When finished next year it will protect the town for many years to come against the threat of coastal erosion and climate change.

However, the main message this year is that Aberaeron is most certainly open for business! All our wonderful local businesses are open including our famous restaurants and pubs, as well as gift shops, cafes and much more besides. You can download our Town App for more information on all these.

Throughout the summer, there is barely a weekend without an exciting event to enjoy, for example the Beer and Cider Festival and the Mackerel Fiesta at the Yacht Club, or the Shire Horse Show right in the centre of town; there is something for everyone in Aberaeron. The six-a-side Cricket Tournament and the Aberaeron Rugby Sevens are a great day out, and don’t forget the Garden and Craft Festival in Cae Sgwar in May.

As usual, the highlight of the year will surely be the Aberaeron Carnival on August Bank Holiday Monday. The colours of the carnival this year are yellow, orange and red so dress brightly and come along for the fun!

We can’t wait to see you and welcome you all!
